Jet Skis!

This summer, Susan and I were cruising around the Oroville After-bay in our Alumaweld Jet boat. It was a beautiful day and we were having a drink and probably listening to a Giants game on the radio. There were a couple of jet skis running around the lake, and Susan said that it looked like they were having more fun than we were.
I am going to go back in time a year of so to a prior trip the after-bay. We were doing the same thing cruising around the lake when we went to the Larkin Rd. ramp to use the bathroom. There was a guy there with a jet ski. We started a conversation and he offered to let me ride the jet ski. I accepted his offer and took it for a spin. I was impressed by the speed and agility of the unit. I thanked him and went back to cruising around the lake in my jet boat.
Now fast forward to this summer' story. It was a Thursday night that we saw the jet skis and began to think about it again. Friday, I was home for lunch and Susan asked me if I had looked into jet skis? I had not really thought seriously about it. I decided to have a look on Craig's list and see what they cost. I found a few, but realized that I did not know anything about them. I gave a call to D&D Motor Sports in Marysville and talked to Bill the owner. I explained we were active Pre-Seniors and we were considering looking at some jet skis.
We didn't waste a moment! Off to Marysville. Long story short we purchased a couple of Bombardier Sea-doo personal watercraft. They are a bit more than 20 years old, but in great condition. We were able to negotiate to get them out the door that day.
Well Saturday came and we headed to the Oroville After-Bay for a day of jet ski'n. I took one out first and got the hang of it. The next step was to give Susan some dual time to get her comfortable riding. We did a couple of trips around the lake, riding double, getting the hang of it.
The next step was for her to ride alone. There was absolutely no problem, she was very capable of riding, and was enjoying the activity very much. We have since been out numerous times with he jet skis. More to come!
